Frontline First Responders™ has also compiled information about other organizations that provide education related to first responder mental health or that we feel is beneficial to first responders. Our staff have not had the opportunity to take all of the classes listed here and can not attest to the content or quality. The listings are provided for your information only. The entries are loosely organized by category.
General Education (In-Person)
General (in-person) education consists of classes that cover multiple topics including suicide prevention, crisis recognition, resiliency, stress reduction, etc.
QPR Institute
Comprehensive Firefighter/EMS suicide prevention course. They also offer train-the-trainer classes for people who want to host a live class.
911 Training Institute
Course designed to teach people how to recognize the signs of mental illness and substance abuse, and how to encourage people to get help.
Mental Health First Aid
Course designed to teach people how to recognize the signs of mental illness and substance abuse, and how to encourage people to get help.
Vital Hearts
Resiliency and compassion fatigue mitigation education for people who work in mental health, public health, victim services, healthcare, etc.
Firefighter Behavioral Health Alliance
A non-profit aimed at educating first responders about behavioral health issues and reducing suicide through workshops on education and suicide prevention.
Psychological First Aid
Psychological First Aid (PFA) teaches supportive skills to be provided to victims in the aftermath of a disaster or other acutely traumatic event.

Run by the National Volunteer Fire Council, this program has several courses and webinars available aimed at educating responders on how to deal with some of the job specific stresses we face.

Single session course providing an overview of the issue of suicide from a law enforcement perspective.

A training and consulting service that provides first responder specific classes on peer support and wellness programs.
First Responder Support Network
Provide both basic and advanced peer support training.
International Critical Incident Stress Foundation
All instructors official CISM/CISD classes will be taught by someone who is a member of ICISF’s approved instructor program.
